What You'll Get

A Clear, Prioritized Action Roadmap

A detailed, prioritized action plan that tells you exactly what to do, when to do it, and why it matters. Specific recommendations for your situation organized by priority and timeline.

Built-In Accountability

This engagement includes a 30-45 day implementation check-in to review progress, troubleshoot obstacles, and maintain momentum. Between meetings, coaching reminders ensure action items don't fall through the cracks.

Professional Planning Software Access

Access to professional financial planning software that models your entire financial life: cash flow, investments, taxes, retirement projections, insurance, and estate planning in one comprehensive view.

The Process: What to Expect

1

Financial Data Setup (Pre-Meeting)

After signing the advisory agreement, you'll receive an invitation to the planning software. Enter your financial data (income, assets, debts, insurance, etc.) and upload supporting documents through a secure portal. This typically takes 1-2 hours spread over a few sessions.

Goal: Get the numbers into the system so the first meeting can focus on strategy, not data entry.

2

First Meeting: Discovery (60-75 minutes)

This meeting validates your data and dives deep into the context behind the numbers. It's about understanding what you have, why you have it, what you're trying to accomplish, and what success looks like.

Topics covered:

  • Top financial priorities and concerns
  • Time-sensitive deadlines (vesting events, open enrollment, home purchases)
  • Equity compensation strategy (if applicable)
  • Tax situation and complexity
  • Risk management gaps (insurance, emergency fund, estate planning)
  • Values, tradeoffs, and decision-making preferences

Outcome: All the information needed to build a comprehensive plan tailored to your specific situation.

3

Plan Development (5-7 business days)

The comprehensive plan is built and analyzed across all planning areas:

  • Cash flow: Where your money goes and how to optimize it
  • Investments: Portfolio allocation, rebalancing, tax-efficient strategies
  • Retirement projections: Monte Carlo scenarios to stress-test your plan
  • Tax optimization: Strategies to reduce your tax burden (401(k), HSA, tax-loss harvesting)
  • Risk management: Life insurance, disability coverage, emergency fund adequacy
  • Action roadmap: Prioritized next steps across all planning areas
4

Second Meeting: Advice Delivery (75-90 minutes)

The comprehensive plan is presented via screen share, walking through projections, recommendations across all planning areas, tradeoffs and alternatives, and a prioritized action roadmap.

You'll leave with:

  • Access to your full financial plan in the planning software
  • A clear, written action roadmap
  • Confidence in your next steps

Important: Implementation, monitoring, and plan updates remain your responsibility. However, if you want hands on help executing recommendations, Hourly-based Planning is available at $275/hour.

5

Implementation Coaching (Between Meetings)

Over the next 30-45 days, strategic check-ins and reminders maintain accountability. These are designed to troubleshoot obstacles and keep momentum going.

  • Week 1: Progress check on first action items
  • Week 2: Next quick wins identified
  • Week 3: Tax planning reminders
  • Week 4: Third meeting preparation
6

Third Meeting: Implementation Check-In (45-60 minutes)

This meeting reviews progress, celebrates wins, and troubleshoots anything that got stuck.

Topics covered:

  • What has been accomplished from the action roadmap
  • What's in progress and what hasn't been started
  • Obstacles and how to overcome them
  • Life changes or adjustments to the plan
  • Next 90-day priorities

Outcome: Renewed clarity, momentum, and a refined roadmap for the next quarter.

Common Questions

What if I don't finish entering my data before the first meeting?

No problem. The first meeting can be used as a data completion coaching session, then the full discovery conversation can be rescheduled once your data is ready.

Does La Vida Financial manage investments?

No. This is an advice-only model. Recommendations are provided, but you retain full control of your accounts. La Vida Financial does not take custody of assets or execute trades on your behalf.

What if something changes after the plan is delivered?

That's what the third meeting is for. If something changes (new job, bonus, life event), the plan will be adjusted accordingly.

Is ongoing support available after the engagement?

Yes. Hourly-based Planning or Ongoing Financial Planning ($275/month) are available after the engagement concludes.
