Hourly Implementation & Coaching

Flexible, pay as you go support for executing your financial plan recommendations. Get expert help exactly when you need it, without the commitment of ongoing support.

Hourly Rate: $275

One-hour minimum, billed in 15-minute increments

Prerequisite: This service is available exclusively to clients who have completed either a Comprehensive Plan or Plan de La Vida from La Vida Financial.

What You'll Get

Direct Implementation Coaching

Screen-share sessions where we walk through complex financial tasks together. Get real-time expert guidance on navigating brokerage interfaces, understanding IRA contribution rules, or deciding between rollover options.

Hands-On Task Support

Practical help with account transfers, 401(k) rollovers, beneficiary designations, broker portal navigation, and other implementation steps. This is hands-on coaching tailored to your specific accounts and situation.

Plan Updates & Adjustments

When life changes (new job, equity vesting, home purchase, marriage, kids), your plan needs to reflect that. Hourly sessions can update projections, adjust recommendations, and recalibrate priorities without requiring a full engagement.

Flexible, No-Commitment Structure

Use hours as needed: one hour this month, five hours next quarter, zero for six months. There's no ongoing subscription, no monthly commitment. You schedule sessions when you need them and pay only for time used.

How It Works

1

Schedule When You Need Help

Reach out via email when you're ready to tackle an implementation task or need plan guidance. We'll find a mutually convenient time for a video call or phone session.

2

Work Through the Task Together

During the session, we'll screen-share (if needed), walk through the process step-by-step, and answer questions in real-time. You'll understand not just what to do, but why you're doing it.

3

Pay Only for Time Used

You'll receive an invoice after the session based on actual time spent:

  • First hour: Billed at the full one-hour rate ($275)
  • After the first hour: Billed in 15-minute increments ($68.75 per 15 minutes)

Common Use Cases

Account Transfers & Rollovers

Walking through 401(k) rollovers, IRA transfers, or brokerage account consolidations step-by-step.

Adjusting projections and recommendations after a job change, bonus, marriage, home purchase, or other significant event.

Deciding when to sell vested RSUs, implementing tax-loss harvesting, or managing concentrated stock positions.

Reviewing policy proposals, coordinating with attorneys for estate documents, or updating beneficiary designations.

Tax Strategy Implementation

Executing Roth conversions, coordinating HSA contributions, or implementing backdoor Roth IRA strategies.

Who This Is For

Focus Client: A self-directed client who has received a comprehensive financial plan and prefers to manage implementation independently.

This service is ideal if you:

  • Want to execute your plan yourself but need occasional expert guidance
  • Have specific implementation questions or complex tasks that require hands-on coaching
  • Prefer flexibility over ongoing monthly support
  • Need periodic plan updates without committing to a subscription service
  • Value having a trusted advisor available on-demand

Hourly Planning vs. Ongoing Support

Both services provide post-plan support, but they serve different needs:

Hourly Planning

  • Pay-as-you-go: No monthly commitment
  • Reactive support: Schedule when you need help
  • Task-focused: Specific implementation or updates
  • Best for: Self-directed clients who occasionally need expert guidance

Ongoing Support

  • Monthly subscription: $275/month
  • Proactive guidance: Structured annual calendar
  • Comprehensive: Quarterly meetings + monthly summaries
  • Best for: Clients with evolving complexity who value continuous partnership

Common Questions

How do I schedule an hourly session?

Simply email us when you're ready to work on a task. We'll coordinate a time that works for both of us. There's no automated scheduling—it's a direct conversation.

What if my task takes less than an hour?

You'll still be billed for the one-hour minimum. However, we can often address multiple quick questions or tasks within that hour, so it's worth preparing a short list of items to cover.

Can I use hourly sessions for ongoing monthly check-ins?

Technically yes, but if you want regular monthly touchpoints with proactive guidance, Ongoing Support ($275/month) is a better fit. It includes structured quarterly meetings and monthly summaries designed for continuous partnership.

Do I need to have completed a plan recently?

As long as you've completed either a Comprehensive Plan or Plan de La Vida from La Vida Financial at some point, you're eligible. There's no expiration date.

What if I'm not sure whether I need hourly support or ongoing support?

If you find yourself wanting more regular touchpoints or proactive guidance, we can discuss transitioning to Ongoing Support.
